Galvanised Chassis Landrover
When considering a Galvanised chassis Landrover, you must consider all models, from the Series 1 Landrover, right through to the Series 3 88″ Landrover. If you wish to buy a Galvanised Chassis LandRover, then John Brown Land Rovers would be a good place to start looking. We nearly always stock a Galvanised Chassis Landrover for sale. It may be listed as a Landrover Series 3 rebuilt on a galvanised chassis. It may even be a tax exempt Landrover for sale, rebuilt on a Galvanised chassis. A galvanised chassis Landrover is a great way of buying a used Land Rover. A galvanised chassis Landrover will last a lot longer than a standard steel chassis. The other factor to consider, is a galvanised bulkhead. Sometimes a rebuilt Land Rover will have been rebuilt with a galvanised bulkhead, and this is a great idea, as you will then have a vehicle that is going to last a very long time. Your wish list could then be……. a Landrover Series 3, galvanised chassis, tax exempt, overdrive, freewheeling hubs, galvanised bulkhead!
As you can see the list is endless. Another thing to consider is whether you want to rebuild your own classic Land Rover. We have rebuilt several old Land Rovers, the most recent being a Land Rover Series 2a, rebuilt with a Galvanised chassis and Bulkhead. The whole vehicle was reconditioned, and many new parts were used. Rebuilt Land Rovers can cost around £7000 to rebuild for parts alone, and can take upto three years to do, but it can be very rewarding. We fitted a Rocky Mountain Overdrive, which is a very posh piece of kit, and gives higher gear ratios. We also fitted a Turner unleaded head which was ported to give extra power, and mated to a weber carb conversion it made this 2a Land Rover drive very well.
We finished this Galvanised Chassis rebuild with a soft top and a second hand set of sticks.
Expect to pay around £10,000 to £20,000 for such a vehicle.
A Galvanised Chassis Landrover can be a lovely vehicle to own. We personally really like the look of the Series 2A Land Rover on a galvanised chassis. We have sold several of these recently and price them between £4000 and £10000. They tend to be expensive, as everyone wants to buy a Series 2a tax exempt Landrover rebuilt on a galvanised chassis. Most people prefer a bronze green colour, and a soft top.
A Series 2a in mid grey on a galvanised chassis looks really appealing on the eye.
We have also owned and sold a number of Landrover Lightweights rebuilt on a galvanised chassis. The Lightweight Land Rover is a great looking vehicle and is fun to drive when stripped. The last one sold was a Series 3 88″ Land Rover Lightweight, rebuilt on a galvanised chassis. It had an overdrive, pioneer tools and a split tailgate, bridging plate, and whip aerials. In this mode they look fantastic! Expect to pay a premium for a Landrover Lightweight rebuilt on a galvanised chassis, as these classic Landrovers for sale are very rare. You can even get them tax exempt which adds to this desirability.
